20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

Three things that I liked about 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea was when Ned, Conseil, and Professor Aronnax were on the Abraham Lincoln and they chased the Nautilus around the sea and they thought it was a whale. Another one of my favorite parts of the book was when they went to the island of Crespo to hunt for food. My last favorite part of the story was when they were still on the island and they found the savages.

The first thing that I really liked about the book was when Ned, a Canadian, M. Aronnax, a Professor, Conseil, the Professors Man-Servant and all the crew members were on the Abraham Lincoln and they were chasing the Nautilus thinking that it was a white whale from the story Moby Dick. After chasing the Nautilus for twenty miles going thirty miles per hour the captain finally got so mad and said that whoever could shoot the beast would be five dollars richer. So the crew first shot a bullet then a harpoon at the Nautilus. The people in the Nautilus became angry so they ran into the ship throwing Ned, Conseil, Professor Aronnax and countless other crew members over board but only the three friends made it to the Nautilus where they would stay on there. They would be treated as guests, but they were actually prisoners.

The next favorite part was after the friends Ned, Conseil, and Mr. Aronnax boarded the Nautilus they settled on an island called the Island of Crespo. This was Captain Nemo of the Nautilus‘s farming and hunting grounds. While Ned, Conseil, and Mr. Aronnax explored the island, the crew stayed on the Nautilus. They found the island on November 16th, 1867. They spent the night on the Nautilus and went onto the island on the 17th. They hunted on the island to find animals on land to eat. Since they were tired of eating sea food. While they were there they found a large amount of birds. Even one called the Bird of the Sun which was a very beautiful and very rare bird. While they hunted they caught a hog and some little Kangaroo Rabbits. They said that no one aboard the Nautilus would get a crumb of the food that they caught and that they would be begging for some of their delicious meat. Also while they were there they made a bread pastry thing that was filled with fruit and roasted over a fire.

The last part that I liked about 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea was when they were still on the island and they found the savages, or actually the savaged found them. They attacked them with stones one after the other hitting them in the head, on their backs and on their legs. They chased the three friends to the water where the savages hoped into their canoes and chased after the Nautilus were the three friends were hiding. Once they got to the Nautilus they jumped on top of it and hit it with their fist and stones. Ned, Conseil, and Mr. Aronnax hid in the Nautilus until the savages left and headed back to the island.

These were my favorite parts of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. I hope that you will read the book and enjoy it as much as I did. Maybe you will have some of the same favorite parts as me.
